Dog Friendly Beaches and Accomodations - Quality Inn & Suites, Coos Bay

Dog lovers, listen up: Oregon has a secret and you're going to love it.  The 363-mile long Oregon coast is majestic, breath-taking and… dog friendly!  Almost without exception, your pup is free to run and play along the entire stretch of sand, from State Parks to local beaches and everything in between.  And with the whole coast remaining in public hands, you're both free to explore until the sun sets and it's time to head inside.

Our Pet Friendly Package makes it easy to bring your best buddy along on your Oregon coast adventure.  Dogs under 25 pounds are welcomed guests, served free doggie treats while you enjoy your complimentary hot breakfast.  Our accommodations are pet-friendly, and you'll enjoy our comfortable rooms and suites with easy access to the coast.  We'll give you the scoop on the best beaches to check out, filling your days with discovery and providing a comfy home base each evening.

We invite you to explore these Coos Bay dog-friendly spots:

  • The Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area stretches 40 miles along the coast, and dogs are welcomed on a 6-foot leash.
  • The formal gardens of Shore Acres State Park are a prime whale watching spot, and the secluded cove of Simpson Beach provides a respite from other visitors. Leashed dogs are allowed throughout the park.
  • William M. Tugman State Park sits on Eel Lake, and permits leashed dogs in almost all areas.
  • Coos Bay Town Beaches permit leashed dogs on most stretches of sand.
  • Cape Arago State Park offers scenic headlands, private beaches and sea lion colonies, with dogs permitted on leash throughout nearly all of the park grounds.
