Coos Art Museum is a community treasure, and a focal point for the arts and culture scene on this part of the Oregon Coast. It's the only public museum in the area, and it's housed in a former post office with unique art deco architecture. But the building is only the beginning. Explore an exquisite collection of maritime art from all over the country, and permanent collection of more than 550 works. The museum also hosts special exhibitions on its upper floors throughout the year, which rotate every few months. You'll also find numerous special events and programs, including art classes, lectures, and community events. Admission is $5 for adults, and $2 for students and seniors.
Coos Art Museum is open from 10 am to 4 pm Tuesday through Friday, and from 1 pm to 4 pm on Saturday. The museum is closed on Sunday and Monday. It's located in the heart of downtown Coos, at 235 Anderson Avenue – not far from our cozy, comfortable hotel. Touring this cultural attraction is one of the top Coos Bay things to do in the winter, when the weather is cold outside. Are you interested to learn more about the museum or our hotel?
