The historic Egyptian Theatre is a vibrant performing arts complex situated on the Coos Bay Boardwalk. Built in 1925, this historic movie house plays current and classic movies, as well as a number of performing arts productions and community events. Take a step back in time and appreciate the adorned Egyptian Revival style as well as the operational Wurlitzer Hope-Jones Unit Orchestra organ, the only theater organ in the state of Oregon that is still in use. Due to the Theatre's historical significance, the Egyptian Theatre was declared a National Register of Historic Places on May 24, 2010.

        Originally built as a garage, the Egyptian Theatre was converted into a movie house in 1925. With Egyptian Revival architecture adorned with opulent chandeliers, a world of hieroglyphics and gold details, the theater has a seating capacity of 770 and remains the largest movie house and performing arts theater of its kind on the Oregon Coast. In the front of the auditorium, the original Wurlitzer Hope-Jones Unit Orchestra organ is still intact and in regular use.
